I spent a wonderful week in Meridian, Idaho, (outside of Boise) with friend Liz at a Gerald Brommer watercolor/collage workshop. Water color painting has never been of interest to me but Liz talked me into taking the class...something about working out of my comfort zone. The venue was a lovely retreat center: good lighting, lots of space, yummy lunches and friendly artists.
Gerald, a well known artist and former art teacher, was a great teacher and I learned much about design options and working with washi papers. I was comfortable with collage but challenged in using design and direction elements.
I've selected a few pieces that worked out ok. I left the crappy ones out.
