TEXT-your

Our ATC theme for this month was "TEXT-ure" which excited me as I love to use both text and texture in my art pieces.  I started off with some really cool Halloween napkins that had a skeleton and lots of scripted writing on it.  When you separate the layers you get really sheer pieces of napkin which are almost transparent when you apply with matte medium.  They also scrunch up good and you can add many layers for depth.  I stamped some lines with acrylic paint then added some transparencies that showed the lettering through.  For added texture I glued on some black screen pieces I found (used the last of them, darn). To personalize the cards, I used wood frosting and alphabet stencils to add first initial of Arts in the Cards artist to whom card was going to.  More texture!  (TEXT-"YOURS" ) Get it?
